Food and wine pairing is never an exact science, as it is always subjective and up to each individual's preferences and taste. Some of the harder items to pair with wines, however, tend to be vegetables and the dishes made with them. This class will go into the basic tenets of pairing food with wine, focusing specifically vegetables and vegetarian fare. We will taste a variety of foods and the wines that pair best with them, including reviewing and tasting wines that are vegan friendly.

German Food & Wine

$45/Person

January 22nd, 4-6 PM

VERO Restaurant & Wine Bar * 1004 2nd Avenue (At 53rd Street) * New York City * 212.935.3530

If you think all German wines are sweet, then this is the class for you....well, at least to prove you wrong. The range of German wines is about as diverse as the topography of the country. While know for their whites, Germany makes wines in all styles, colors and sweetness levels. Due to the northerly location of most of the vineyards, the wines tend to be lower in alcohol and with a pronounced acidity allowing them pair easily with foods. There is no one style when it comes to German cuisine and there is definitely something to satisfy even the most discriminating palate. This class will cover the main regions of Germany and will taste through many of the regional wines and foods to match.
